For the Case V8.49.0 Release, scheduled for October 23rd, we have the following updates.
- PACCAR Parts and Service Specials | A new “Want to Save Money?” box now shows the latest PACCAR coupons and specials inside PSSM.
- Copy Existing Operations & Inspections | Builder users will soon no longer need to rebuild similar operations and inspections from scratch. You can copy an operation, including its complete inspection, parts, and outcomes.
- Updated Operations Table UI - Free Vendor Provider Locations | Vendor locations will soon have the same updated operations table UI that replaced the legacy table for all Service Provider locations last year.
- Classify Case Attachments | You can now give each case attachment a type: Warranty, Inspection, Recall, or Other. This makes it easier to find the files that support claims without opening each one.
- Case Information (VMRS) Repair Priority | Repair Priority is now a set of radio buttons instead of a dropdown, so you can show whether a repair was planned or unplanned with one click.
- Operation Price Codes | The Price Code search on cases now puts code matches at the top of the list, so you can pick a code more quickly.
Case V8.49.0
PACCAR Parts and Service Specials
- TRP Parts Specials: current deals on TRP parts for all makes.
- Peterbilt Specials: Peterbilt-specific parts and service promotions.
- Kenworth Specials: Kenworth-specific parts and service deals.
All three links always appear, so you can find savings for every truck in a mixed fleet.
- The TRP Parts Specials link appears on every case.
- The Peterbilt Specials link appears if the location is a Peterbilt.
- The Kenworth Specials link appears if the location is a Kenworth location.
Copy Existing Operations & Inspections
Builder users will soon no longer need to rebuild similar operations and inspections from scratch. You can copy an operation, including its complete inspection, parts, and outcomes. Each copy is a fully independent operation that its new owner can edit freely.
What’s new
- A new Copy control in the operation detail page header creates a duplicate of the operation.
- The copy includes:
- every variation, with its part lines and additional charges
- the full inspection: items, locations, outcomes and flags, default outcomes, and failed-outcome operation references
- documents and weblinks at every level
- Copies are fully independent. Changes to the copy never affect the source, and changes to the source never affect the copy.

Classify Case Attachments
You can now give each case attachment a type: Warranty, Inspection, Recall, or Other. This makes it easier to find the files that support a warranty claim without opening each one.
Setting a type when you upload
- On the Case page, go to Attachments.
- Click Choose File and pick your file.
- Choose a type from the new Type dropdown. It defaults to None.
- Click Upload. The attachment appears in the list with its type.
Changing a type later
The attachments list has a new Type column. Pick a new value from the dropdown on any row and it saves right away, with no Save button. You can change any type to any other type, including back to None.
Good to know
- Attachments added before this release are set to None.
- Attachments added through the API, integrations, email or mobile are also set to None. You can update them from the Case page.
- Changing an attachment’s type doesn’t change its Customer/Internal setting, and changing Customer/Internal doesn’t change its type.
- Every type change is recorded in the attachment history with the user and time.
- If you can’t change an attachment’s Customer/Internal setting, you can see its type but can’t edit it.
Case Information (VMRS) - Repair Priority
On the Case Information and Case Info (VMRS) screens, Repair Priority is now a set of radio buttons instead of a dropdown, so you can show whether a repair was planned or unplanned with one click.
- 1 – Scheduled
- 2 – Non-Scheduled
- 3 – Emergency
- Select Other: opens a dropdown with the new ATA VMRS priorities: 4 – Due Soon, 5 – Past Due, and 6 – Request Performed
How it works
- No priority is selected on a new case until you pick one.
- If you select a priority by mistake, you can clear it.
- Select Other stays selected only after you choose a value from its dropdown. If you then pick Scheduled, Non-Scheduled, or Emergency, the Other value is cleared.
Operation Price Codes
The Price Code search on cases now puts code matches at the top of the list, so you can pick a code as quickly as you could before Case 8.43.0. You can still find a code by its description when you don’t know the code.
How results are ordered
When you type in the Price Code field, results appear in this order:
- The code that exactly matches what you typed
- Codes that start with what you typed
- Codes that contain what you typed
- Codes whose description contains what you typed
Within each group, codes are sorted alphabetically. Each code appears only once, and every result shows both the code and its description.
Example: typing lab lists LAB first, then LAB-2 and LABOR, then XLAB, and then codes with “labor” in the description, such as AAA (Labor Fee).
Good to know
- Searching ignores upper and lower case.
- This works on both the operation edit page and the Operations table on the case page.
- In the Operations table, clicking into an empty Price Code field now lists all your price codes in alphabetical order.
- Job Code search hasn’t changed.
